Design Description
Our design is inspired by Queen Meabh and her close association with the local area where we live, situated close to the royal site at Rathcroghan County Roscommon, The Táin Trail, and Knocnarea County Sligo. This western warrior queen has continued in Irish myth and legend through the centuries. She is easily recognizable, symbolizing strength, beauty, power, and independence in an era of male dominance. Also inspired by nature, the dress is truly an authentic creation using as many materials found within the local landscape as possible. The original music we have used is composed by our music group director. It is called \The Battle\” and wonderfully recreates an atmospheric background to our design. “
